It's no secret that I think animals are wonderful, and they can also be a great source of inspiration. We should all take a tip from this selfless American Bulldog. Even though she herself had recently given birth to a litter of puppies, she took on the role of mother to a litter of kittens who share the same home. Tragically, the mama cat was taken away from her babies after being hit by a car. Luckily, Molly was there to nurture and care for the four little orphans.
I know - this isn't the first story of one species adopting the offspring of another type of species. We've all seen stories like this one in the news before - pigs, tigers, dogs, monkeys, etc. caring for one another and living in harmony as if they were meant to be together. But it always gives me a warm feeling when I hear about these cases. And it also makes me wonder how human beings tend to think of animals as lesser creatures, yet we are the ones who harm one another out of spite.
